I took this picture when Justin fell asleep this weekend after watching too much football. :) I love that he's still holding the remote, thumb ready to flip to a different game during a time out. He slept like this for a good 20 minutes.

Merry Christmas!
I have to admit, I am guilty of not getting out Christmas cards this year! I know it's pretty lame to post a "Christmas Card" post, but here I go. Thanks to all who sent us Christmas cards! We loved them. I will do my best to get some out next year.

Snow Day
Today it snowed and snowed and snowed. We pretty much hibernated all day. These pictures were taken at 4pm, and it's supposed to snow well into the evening. I had fun measuring the amount of snow. The news reported at 6pm that our area had 18 inches!
This first picture is of the street.
This is the picture I took a few weeks ago of our first snow.

Pies & Snow
I just got back from Las Vegas where I was able to spend a couple weeks with family and friends. I was also there for Thanksgiving. It was so good to see everyone! Even though Thanksgiving is over, I had to post about one of our family traditions. Our family is big on pies when it comes to Thanksgiving. We had 24 relatives in town for the meal. Guess how many pies we had? 29 finished pies, but if you count the pie crusts waiting to be filled, we had 47 PIES!!! I told you, we are big on pies! 9 of the 29 finished pies were pumpkin, and I remember my grandma asking me if she thought we had enough (she was serious). I just said, “We might not have enough if we want the pies to last through December!” :) Anyway, here’s a picture of the first table of pies. If you are wondering how we eat them all, we eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire week following Thanksgiving. Funny tradition, but that’s what makes Thanksgiving for me!
I helped in the pie making this year. This was my favorite one.

Catching Up...
I know it's only been two weeks since I posted last, but we've done a lot of things since then. So here we go...
On October 27th, Justin was sworn in to the Missouri Bar. Most law students are sworn in at the state capital where they took the bar (Jefferson City, MO for Justin). However, a friend of Justin's pulled some strings and Justin was sworn in at the US SUPREME COURT!! This was quite a treat. Justin was sworn in by General Suter, Clerk of the US Supreme Court.
General Suter joked and said, "Now you can tell people that your first appearance as an attorney was at the Supreme Court." :)
A few weeks ago, Justin and I visited Shenandoah National Park. It's located in the Appalachian Mountains. The views are beautiful in the fall, but it was a little foggy when we went. This was the first lookout point. We couldn't see 10 feet in front of us. Haha. Luckily, the fog cleared, so the entire day wasn't wasted.
After the fog cleared.
On Veteran's Day, we visited Arlington National Cemetery.
I knew it was big, but I didn't realize how big until we walked part of it. The entire cemetery occupies several city blocks! It's huge!
Of course, I had to post something baby related. :) This is the adorable pack n play / bassinet I picked up from Craigslist. It's practically brand new, cost 60% less than store price, and is just plain cute!! I can't wait to use it! :)

Her First Outfit!
That's right! On Friday we found out we will be having a little GIRL!! We are very excited! Honestly, I was really thinking it would be a boy. Many people also told me they were "feeling" boy. And we can't forget the cake (although we can give it the benefit of the doubt as it was showing some pink). Anyway, we were pleasantly surprised, and of course, I had to go out and buy something right away!

Okay, this is more like her 25th outfit. :) It's a 12 mo outfit. I didn't really like the baby clothes in our Walmart, and I've heard that baby shower gifts pretty much take care of 0-9 months clothing. So I found this super cute shirt, jeans, shoes and bow. I had a lot of fun picking out the outfit, and I think Justin might have even enjoyed it at little. :)
Here are the jeans and shoes up close. Can you tell that I'm excited?! :)

What I did today...
The county I live in was giving out 10,000 free swine flu vaccinations today at a single location. They were only giving them out to pregnant women and children ages 6 months - 3 years. So, in showing my love and devotion to my unborn child, I stood in line for THREE HOURS, outside, in the rain. It was quite a site. Pregnant women and mothers with young children lined up along the curb. This isn't a pic of the actual event, but you get the idea.
Oh, and of course, Justin was at home watching ESPN Game Day (highlighting BYU)! I made him rub my feet when I got home! :)

Baby Cake & Pumpkin Carving
On Friday, Justin and I drove up to Baltimore to visit some friends. Amy was my college roommate and I haven't seen her in about 4 years! It was great to see her again.
Amy has a family tradition that I call "The Baby Cake." Amy made this cake; half of it is pink and half of it is blue.
BLUE!! :) The cake has been pretty accurate in Amy's family, so we'll see if it turns out true for me.My ultrasound is October 30th!! We can't wait to know for sure what we will be having!

Gettysburg
Justin had Columbus Day off work, so we took a trip to Gettysburg, PA. We followed a map and drove around to all the historic sites. The map took us chronologically through the three day battle. It was a great trip.
I loved the beautiful fall trees!

My Sister Came to Visit...
I spent the last week having a blast with my sister Heather. She has never been to D.C. before, so we spent a day touring the National Mall.
Here's Justin (he really didn't want to take this picture)... he needed a lot of new work clothes. I had so much fun shopping for him, that I wrapped everything up and made him open them like presents. Unfortunately, all I had were bags from our wedding/my bridal showers. Haha. Poor Justin. At least he made out well.
Our Apartment
Here are a few pictures of our new place in D.C.

Here's the outside of the complex.
This photo was taken from the front door.
Breakfast bar opens to the dinning/living space.
No pics of our bedroom; it's kind of boring. Plenty of space for our bed, dresser, desk/computer and night stand. I'm not sure if we'll be able to fit a crib in there, but I plan on using a pack n' play for a while. :)
