Pies & Snow

I just got back from Las Vegas where I was able to spend a couple weeks with family and friends. I was also there for Thanksgiving. It was so good to see everyone! Even though Thanksgiving is over, I had to post about one of our family traditions. Our family is big on pies when it comes to Thanksgiving. We had 24 relatives in town for the meal. Guess how many pies we had? 29 finished pies, but if you count the pie crusts waiting to be filled, we had 47 PIES!!! I told you, we are big on pies! 9 of the 29 finished pies were pumpkin, and I remember my grandma asking me if she thought we had enough (she was serious). I just said, “We might not have enough if we want the pies to last through December!” :) Anyway, here’s a picture of the first table of pies. If you are wondering how we eat them all, we eat them for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire week following Thanksgiving. Funny tradition, but that’s what makes Thanksgiving for me!

I helped in the pie making this year. This was my favorite one.

Justin and I woke up this morning to the first snow for the D.C. area. Apparently it doesn’t snow a lot out here (maybe 3 or 4 times and it melts) so we are enjoying our white winter day.
If you are looking for a baby update.... I'm getting big. :)
