4 Month Update

Since I don't feel that the pictures to the side are doing justice to my growing belly, I decided to post one additional picture. You can really see the difference when I wear jeans. I'm not sure if I will continue to post these pictures as the months continue... especially if/when I start to retain water. :) We shall see.

My Sister Came to Visit...

I spent the last week having a blast with my sister Heather. She has never been to D.C. before, so we spent a day touring the National Mall.
The Capitol

The White House

Washington Monument

Inside one of the many Smithsonians

Heather taught me how to pose. Posing makes taking pictures so much fun; and you look cuter as a result! This is us practicing our poses once our legs were exhausted from walking all over town.

These pretty flowers were on Capitol Hill.

Heather's #1, absolute, above all, favorite thing to do is SHOP! We spent one day at the National Mall, and 3 days at the fashion mall! I would ask Heather if she wanted to go to the zoo or beach, "No, let's go shopping!" would be her reply. :)
Here's Justin (he really didn't want to take this picture)... he needed a lot of new work clothes. I had so much fun shopping for him, that I wrapped everything up and made him open them like presents. Unfortunately, all I had were bags from our wedding/my bridal showers. Haha. Poor Justin. At least he made out well.

Our Apartment

Here are a few pictures of our new place in D.C.
Here's the outside of the complex.

The Living Room / Dinning Room
This photo was taken from the front door.

The Kitchen
Breakfast bar opens to the dinning/living space.

The toilet. :) I just wanted to put this picture on here because I love that we found a shower curtain to match the paint. :)

No pics of our bedroom; it's kind of boring. Plenty of space for our bed, dresser, desk/computer and night stand. I'm not sure if we'll be able to fit a crib in there, but I plan on using a pack n' play for a while. :)

Cravings

This is a random pregnancy update, but holy cow all I want to eat is GRILLED CHEESE! Before pregnancy, I had a sweet tooth. I thought that once I was pregnant, I wouldn't be able to get enough sugar. Well I was wrong. All I want is grilled cheese. I have probably had 1 or 2 sandwiches everyday for the past week. Poor Justin, every time I suggest grilled cheese for lunch he sighs, "Again?"

It's Official!

Justin found out he passed the Bar exam this week!! Hooray! Three long, hard years of school and then two long, grueling months of bar study (not to mention a lot of money).... and it's all over. He did it. He may now be called "Justin Hawes, Attorney at Law" !!!

Blurry Picture? Or....

A BABY!
I'm pregnant!
This is a picture of the 12 week ultrasound picture so it's not that clear, but I just had to put it on. The baby is laying on its back. This is a profile shot. From left to right is, a leg, another leg, the chin, nose and forehead.

We are very excited that our little one is doing well. I'm due March 12th. The pregnancy has been good so far. I've lucked out and haven't been sick. The ultrasound was the highlight of the pregnancy so far. The baby was moving a lot and even stuck its hand up and we saw all the fingers and thumb. We'll keep you posted.

Caribbean Cruise!

A couple weeks ago Justin and I went on a Cruise!! We wanted to celebrate finishing law school and take a major vacation before moving on with our lives in D.C.. Neither of us have been on a cruise before, and we absolutely loved it!
Our first stop was Key West. We took a bike tour around the island. Our guide cut open fresh coconut and we drank the milk.
This was one of the stops on the bike tour. It was so beautiful!
Our next stop was Grand Cayman. We swam with the sting rays! and KISSED them! Yuck! :) They were a little slimy, but the experience of being in the ocean with them was really neat.
We also snorkeled at Grand Cayman. Justin really enjoyed this. I had a hard time with my goggles and flippers, but at least I got one good picture.

Look how gorgeous this 7 mile beach was in Grand Cayman. The water was crystal clear and the sand was perfectly white.

Our last stop was our favorite: Jamaica!! We loved Jamaica. Too bad we didn't get more pictures. This is Dunn's River Falls. We hiked up these falls. It was fresh water and very cool (temperature wise). I fell in love with Jamaica. It was so beautiful!
We also floated down a river in Jamaica. These are a couple of kids we met at the bottom of the river. They were so cute! We had a fun water fight with them. The little boy was also fascinated with my waterproof camera, and loved playing with it. Although the water looks green in this picture, it wasn't. It was very clear.
At dinner one night on the ship.

We absolutely loved our cruise and would recommend one to anyone!

We Made It!

After 13 long hours of driving, we made it to our new home! I need to get a few more things situated, and then I will have a few pictures to post.
