All Dressed Up!

I've decided I take too many pictures. I know, that's not really news to anyone. :) I'm having a hard time keeping up with sorting through the pictures and posting the good ones each month!

My two kiddos all dressed up for church.
A friend made these ties.

Recently Justin and I celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary!
We went on a 24 hour date while a friend watched our kids.

The next day was Mother's Day. (I had a great weekend!) :)
Although these next two pictures are similar, I love our hands in this picture.
I love his 'smile' in this picture.
This is the only picture Ava would take with me on Mother's Day. She had to show off her bear, and Tyler is crying, but at least Ava is smiling!

Cherry Blossoms

We went downtown to see the cherry blossoms.

A few photo opportunities too precious for me to pass up! :)

If "Professional Carousel Riding" was a career, I'm pretty sure Ava would say she is going to be a carousel rider when she grows up! I can't count how many carousels she has ridden.

Wild Cowgirl!

In front of the Washington Monument with my little man.

Kansas City Photo Roundup

We had a blast with the Hawes family in Kansas City.
Here are the last of the pictures to finish off the trip!

 We visited the Hallmark Center.
I loved how the children's area was designed.
I also loved that Ava was actually smiling for the camera!!
 Cute paper towel dispensers!
 Fun drinking fountain.
The Family... being silly.

The kids had a blast at a bounce house place we went to.

"Smush Face!"

Proof that we did not leave Tyler in DC.  :)
He had a fun time as well. He just doesn't hold still long enough to take pictures of him!

A Child's Thoughts

As Ava gets older, she gets more talkative and thinks about things a lot. We can mention something once, and a few days later she'll be talking about it.

Heaven
Ava and Justin were talking about heaven the other day. Ava said, "I don't want to go to heaven." When Justin asked why she said, "Because I don't want to get flushed down the toilet!" It took him a second, then Justin understood. When Ava's goldfish have died, we've flushed them down the toilet and said, "They went to heaven!" :)

Fired!
Ava always wants Justin to stay home from work. Justin explained to her, "If I don't go to work, I'll get fired." The other day Ava was talking to me about Daddy and said, "Daddy has to go to work. I don't want him to get hot and burned!"

Worms and Birds
After it rained Ava went outside and collected worms off the sidewalk. She talked about how the big ones were Mommies and Daddies. She carried them around with her and then put them in her bike basket on the patio. The next day she went outside and then came back inside with a handful of dried worms and a sad face. "My worms are dead. They aren't moving. I put them in my basket, and they don't like the sun. My worms are dead." -Sigh- Then she sang a song about how her worms were dead.

After the singing "funeral," I told her to throw the worms in the bushes for the birds to eat. She tossed the handful of worms and they landed in a pile on the sidewalk. She then told me she needed to step on the worms so the birds wouldn't choke on them. :) I think this comes from us always telling her Tyler is going to choke on things she leaves on the ground.

What a silly girl.
I took these pictures a few days after I wrote this post.
Her expressions happened to be perfect for the above stories.
